Locations for sustainable tours

Our 2010 itineraries showcase the Wallowa Valley, a place worth exploring during our Source Tours and beyond. Tucked in to a remote corner of the state, the Wallowa Valley is boarded by Hells Canyon on one side and the Wallowa Mountains on the other. Far off the beaten path, isolation has presented unique challenges and opportunities to farmers and ranchers in the region. And the scenery here is unlike any other part of the Northwest. The rolling hay and wheat fields of the valley give way to mixed conifer forests at the mid elevation and a backdrop of snowcapped peaks. Sparsely populated, the people who do live here are very hospitable - making the area an ideal setting for Source Tours. The farms, ranches and brewery we visit during the 2010 tours are scattered between the communities of Wallowa, Lostine and Joseph.

Following are links to assist with planning an extended trip in the Wallowa Valley & Mountains after your Source Tour. Treat yourself to a raft trip in Hells Canyon, hike the Eagle Cap Wilderness, bike the miles of rural roads or simply settle in with a good book between swims at Wallowa Lake.
